Having grown up near Woodford Aerodrome and attending several airshow over the years, I went today with my father-in-law George and his good friend Danny to witness this awesome plane for one last time. Avro heritage and the new owners of the estate where the old Bae factory once stood allowed visitors to drive on to witness The Vulcan Bomber XH558 for one last time. We arrived early to get a good viewing spot, so glad we did as there were over 100o vehicles all full. The morning started with some model aircraft displays followed by the great plane itself spot on schedule. It was only a flypast, however well worth the wait. A truly remarkable flying machine, one that will be missed at all the airshows. XH558 will now be decommissioned and be sighted at Robin Hood airport for all to see.
